SQL Server Indexes and Statistics: From Theory to Practice
Part 2 of last month’s presentation
SQL Server’s query optimizer can produce excellent plans (most of the time), but only when it has the right metadata – via indexes and statistics. This session moves beyond the basics and gives databases developers and performance tuners the concrete techniques they need to audit, design, and maintain indexes underneath critical business-critical databases. Even modest adjustments can cut query runtimes by significant amounts without touching application code. Come prepared and leave with a toolbox that turns “indexing is an art” into a repeatable science!
